Would you like to buy a vowel? Back in the mid-’80s, German luxury drivers sure enjoyed doing so thanks to the four-door practicality and low-revving fuel-efficiency of the  1986 BMW 325e — an “e” which signified “efficiency.”

Thanks to generosity of the guys over at MotorWeek, we’re able to relive the thrilling days of this particular Bavarian treat. The show has been releasing retro reviews for a little while now, and last month viewers saw the likes of the ’86 BMW 635CSi as well, a more powerful 6 Series coupe whose engine was the largest in the chassis. Aside from dated jargon like the “oriental” look of the power headrests and the “novel” nature of the trip computer, these retro reviews — as well as the BMW models being reviewed — really stand the test of time.

Sure, we may have jumped the gun on Throwback Thursday, but aren’t you glad we did?

Where are they now, you ask? Well, the latest 3 and 6 Series models are right here in Devon, PA, of course. We invite you to meet the new-and-improved 2015 BMW 3 Series and 6 Series vehicles here at BMW of Devon.
