Why calling shotgun is unnecessary in the 2016 BMW 7 Series

BMW’s refreshed flagship sedan has arrived in Devon, PA, and it’s one of the most tech-savvy, luxurious and handsomely styled cars on the market. It would take less time to talk about what the 2016 BMW 7 Series can’t do, but we’ll try to be brief.

For the sake of brevity, let’s just say that this year’s 7 Series pampers from driver to executive passengers. New technology and driver assistance features abound, and whoever is lucky enough to be seated in the rear lounge will feel right at home with a tablet-based infotainment system, a dual-pane sunroof, Wi-Fi hotspot capability and much more. This lavish little limo is makes calling shotgun a game of the past — or for less refined rides, perhaps.

The 7 Series is one of those ultra-luxurious vehicles that you can’t just take for a “quick drive” (turn on that seat massage feature and see how eager you are to take the shortcut home), but the critics at Consumer Reports® were able to do it, and they’ve included their initial reactions in the video below.
