The popularity of new BMW electric vehicles like the new BMW i3 and BMW i8 continue to grow, and when you understand the level of performance, precision and luxury that goes into every model, it's not hard to see why. Sales for the two models have now surpassed a quarter-million BMW electrified vehicles on the road worldwide. While the growth of sales are steadily increasing around the globe and expected to pass the goal of 140,000 vehicles this year, the United States has contributed massively with an over 70 percent increase of year-over-year increase, due to the efficient, athletic and stylish benefits that each vehicle has to offer.

The new BMW i3 comes equipped with a Hybrid-synchronous motor that is paired with either a 22-kWh lithium ion battery or a 32-kWh lithium ion battery, producing either 170 or 184-horsepower combined, respectively. The range for the new i3 is 114-miles, or up to 180-miles in range-extended models. 0-60 mph is achieved in as little as 6.8-seconds in the i3s model. The new BMW i8 comes equipped with a 1.5-liter TwinPower Turbo three-cylinder engine + AC synchronous electric motor/generator that combines with a 5-kWh lithium ion battery to produce 357-horsepower combined, allowing you to achieve 0-60 mpg in as little as 4,2-seconds with a range of up to 330-miles with combined gasoline and electric motor.
